Frequently Asked Questions
One on one training in the comfort of your home allows us to observe and change your dog’s behavior in its most familiar environment. As training continues we will be able to work in other environments as needed.
You will meet with our trainer once a week for sessions. During sessions you and your dog will learn new skills and be given homework to practice in between lessons. We recommend committing to at least 6 sessions, especially for puppies who need time to build up skill/behavior repertoire.
J9sK9s does not use fear or punishment based training techniques. Our trainer comes from a marine mammal training background and uses psychology proven, positive reinforcement based training techniques.
Training has no age limit! J9K9s will take your dog back to basics, discover the root of the behavioral issue, and come up with a plan to achieve your training goals.
Working with puppies is a J9K9s favorite! In six weeks, we will teach you and your dog how to communicate clearly. Your puppy will learn its name, recall, sit, down, stay, leave it, loose leash walking, threshold/doorwaybehavior, and more. Your trainer will teach you lifestyle tips, tricks and methods to set the foundation of a healthy and happy life for both your dog and your family.
Training should begin as soon as your puppy comes home. Setting clear expectations and boundaries will help your puppy to be confident and to thrive in your home.
